Mixed Tea Sampler - Value
The following tea sampler offers a balanced entry into the great variety of Chinese teas, and at price that is hard to beat. The selection was chosen for its representation of multiple tea types and with a focus on great value rather than famous region prices. See below for more information on each tea included.
The Sampler includes:
25g of Long Jing
This particular Zhejiang Longjing is a 'wild' leaf tea. The quality is notably very high but it does not come from the more famous West-Lake region and therefore does not command the same high price. Also wild Long Jing in particular has a more robust taste than the gentler West Lake Long Jing and Ming-qian West Lake Long Jing teas.
25g of Premium Jasmine Scented Green Jasmine tea is honored as the most fragrant and popular scented Chinese tea in the world. This tea is light, delicate, slightly sweet and every cup comes with a distinctive fresh jasmine fragrance.
25g of Osmanthus Scented Oolong This Oolong is scented with Osmanthus flowers, combining to offer a subtle osmanthus fragrance with a refreshingly light, sweet taste and the familiar deep traditional Oolong undertones.
25g of Tie Guan Yin This oolong of GanDe area in Anxi county offers a balanced cup with a light amber hue. The texture is silky-smooth and the refreshing taste lingers in the mouth long after the last cup.
25g of Xiao Hong Pao Xiao Hong Pao, literally 'Small red robe' or 'Small red cape' is close cousin of the extremely famous Da Hong Pao; one of the four main Wuyi teas (Si Da Ming Cong).
25g of Lichee Scented Black Lichee black tea is a favorite restaurant tea that is often drank with meals. The exotic fruity lichee flavor coupled with the strong-bodied black tea makes a soothing combination for oily and fragrant foods.
