Xiao Hong Pao, literally 'Small red robe' or 'Small red cape' is close cousin of the extremely famous Da Hong Pao; one of the four main Wuyi teas (Si Da Ming Cong). Both the taste and fragrance have similar long-lasting floral undertones that make a bold, honey-roasted finish, partly due to it being a 'Zu-huo' or heavily baked leaf. Wuyi Rock tea lovers looking for a more affordable everyday-variety first-rate tea now have an excellent solution. |
