 | Tai Ju Chrysanthemum Flowers (a.k.a. Tai Ju Hua Cha)
| Season: | Autumn 2009 | | | Origin: | Zhejiang Province | |
Tai Ju are essentially one special variety of Chrysanthemum flowers that have only partially bloomed. They are young flowers, well-preserved within their own built-in protection, and filled with flavour and wonderful health benefits. Their slightly more medicinal and sharper taste make them very fitting for our post-cold recuperation. They are an absolute delight when brewed in mixes as well. Add in Gou-qi berries (for the Chinese medicine types), or jasmine green tea, raisins, dried lychees or our favorite: Maple syrup! An especially fantastic way to ward off a nagging cough. |
