 | Shui Xian Wang (a.k.a. Narcissus Oolong, Water Fairy, Water Immortal, Shui Hsien King)
| Season: | Summer 2009 | | | Origin: | Wuyi Mountain, Fujian province | |
Shui Xian is famous for its unparalled fragrance. The process of creating Shui Xian begins from picking the branch's first three or four leaves. After wilting and bruising, the leafs are hand-rolled into a shape said to resemble a frog's leg. Shui Xian's dark green leaves give off an exquisite lacquered fragrance that complements the tea's back-of-the-mouth sweetness. The narcissus aroma for which the tea is famous for is purely an artifact of the tea’s processing and cultivation. No flowers were necessary to scent this delicacy. |
