 | Rou Gui (a.k.a. Cassia Bark, Cinnamon)
| Season: | Summer 2009 | | | Origin: | Wu Yi Mountain, Fujian Province | |
Long lasting cups of this strong, full-bodied tea are both stimulating and refreshing. This Wu Yi Mountain rock wulong is named Rou Gui or ‘cassia bark’ because the tea’s famous fragrance has some similarities to the cassia tree’s spicy bark; an east-Asian derivative of cinnamon. These are mostly undertones, as this is still an Wu Yi mountain tea, and nothing close to a cinnamon herbal blend! It is a unique and precious tea that is cheap enough to be consumed on a very regular basis at the Golden Tea House. |
