Multiple infusions of this tea will keep offering a uniquely multi-dimensional oolong flavour along with a silky-smooth aftertaste. This Qidan varietal is equal in grade and quality to our finest Da Hong Pao. However, in taste, it is considered a 'mid-roasted' tea (zhonghuo). Despite the additional 'firing' that the leaves get, this tea is naturally sweet and delicious. We find that many Wuyi mountain teas need some form of experience to begin enjoying, but Qidan is a unique tea in that its fruity overtones and natural sweetness impresses everyone! Additionally, this year's processing is higher fired than the previous lighter year's, and the added roasting produces a much needed added depth to the fragrance. Imagine strawberries, but this year dipped in chocolate!
