Biluochun Tea is one of the ten most famous teas in China and. It is only sourced from its birthplace region surrounding Dong Ting lake in Jiangsu province. All other Biluochun teas contain obvious differences that make them far less valuable in the marketplace. The tightly-rolled first-grade leaves stand out as high quality but typical of the true Dong Ting Biluochun, evident by the tiny fluffy appearance of each leaf. The technique for collecting the tea leaves is very complex with only the tender tips of the leaves used in the tea making process. The Biluochun tea involves a particularly labor intensive process but the end result are leaves that are compact, tender and wonderfully fresh and aromatic. When brewed, the tea is very pale-yellow-green in colour with a pronounced fresh smell and taste.
This picking of Dong Ting Biluochun is a certified 'Pre-Qing Ming Dong Ting Biluochun' tea, which requires it to be produced from the very tender first spring shoots prior to the 5th of April each year (This year). pre-Qing Ming Biluochun teas offer a fresher and paler high-quality result than mainstream Dong Ting Biluochun.
