Biluochun is one of the ten most famous teas in China. The technique for collecting the tea leaves is very complex with only the tender tips of the leaves used in the tea making process. The Biluochun tea involves a particularly labor intensive process but the end result are leaves that are compact, tender and wonderfully fresh and aromatic. When brewed, the tea is yellow-green in colour with a strong, fresh smell and taste.
This is a pre-Qingming festival tea, so it is picked earlier than normal and cheaper green teas. The result is a tea that is subtler and often excellently balanced, and also highly coveted by green tea lovers.
