Ban Tian Yao is a small subset of Wuyi Oolongs that shares certain characteristics of very high quality Da Hong Pao oolongs as well as Shui Jin Gui oolongs. For those unaccustomed to Wuyi oolongs, especially more roasted varieties, this one can come as somewhat of a surprise. So many layers of of intense fruit-filled aromas come straight across the tongue, carried by the strength of a well-fired oven, and all mixed with such fantastic skill into one tea. Real connoisseurs will rejoice. We are simply very lucky to have quite a bit of this one tea, so late in the season. An ideal collector tea, since it ages so well.. but only if you don't finish it too quickly!
