 | 2005 Ancient Wild Tree Jing Mai Raw Pu-erh Cake (a.k.a. Jing Mai Sheng Pu-er Bing)
| Season: | 2005 Production | | | Origin: | Jing Mai, Xishuanbanna, Yunnan Province | |
This green cake's wild tea tree leaves have been aged for 3 years since leaving the factory. The fine leaves were harvested from very old trees in the famous Jing Mai moutain region in Xishuanbanna, Yunnan province. Raw uncooked pu'er teas develop quite remarkably with age gaining more depth and mellowing their commonly astringent edge. While most suitable of all teas for weight-loss, these leaves also produce an excellent tea-drinking experience for anyone. Note that its current astringent flavour might come across to some as similar to an over-steeped green tea; so please be careful to steep quickly while pouring in the water gently at first. If you are new to raw pu'ers it is best to steep the tea even quicker.
This particular series competed in the Guangzhou Pu'er competition and came away with a Silver award! They are aged incredible well with great attention and already after 4 years produce excellent results that are uncommon with a tea of this age. |
